Traveling to Dubai
Eight students from Syracuse University traveled from JFK International Airport in New York City arriving in Dubai on Sunday, May 17th. The flight took twelve and a half hours on a luxurious, Emirates Airline A380. The day of traveling flew by with the comfortable seats and in flight entertainment. The Syracuse students were picked up at the airport by DCC Human Resources department head, Mr. Ahmed Shabaany. From here they were taken to the Dunes Hotel Apartments, their home for the next 4 weeks.
As for the Lebanese American University students, they traveled from Beirut International Airport on the 17th of May and landed at 11:30 in Dubai Airport where they were also picked by Mr. Ahmed Shabaany and directed to the Hotel.
After enjoying settling into the apartments and breaking in the rooftop pool the students were visited by Mr. Abdallah Yabroudi. The students were briefed on their four weeks of the internship program.
Welcome Dinner
At 7:00pm, a welcome dinner was held at Sloane's (Grosvenor House Hotel) where all of the students enjoyed a wonderful buffet of food with Mr. Yabroudi, Mr. Clemence and many other members of the DCC staff. Mr. Sam Clemence opened the dinner with introductions and a few jokes to ease the tension. After enjoying a great dinner and getting to know the DCC staff the students returned to the hotel to rest up for their first day on the job.
